I have to do a psychology research paper over anything of my choice.  I ended up choosing "the fear of death," which came to my mind rather quickly; I guess because I'm so afraid of the subject myself.  While doing some of my research tonight, all of the pages I have found have been offering religous solutions to fearing death.

This makes me even more afraid.

Oh man, the best thing happened today. I set my alarm for 11 this morning, and it definitely went off, but I ended up getting up at 1, which sucked because I wanted to have a longer day, but that's not the point.  I checked my mail and saw that I had a message from "STS9."  They updated their site with the Columbia show!  So I quickly entered my credit card number and downloaded the show and I must say that I would have paid 30 dollars for the thing.  It brings back the feelings that I had when they were rocking out that night and reminds me that it was probably the best time of my short life.  I never dreamed that my mind would become so vulnerable to music like this, but it has happened.  Knowing someone that is just as obsessed with that band makes it so much better.

Other than music, I have a few things I can talk about.  Connor started work at Schlotzky's tonight, adding yet another school friend to the star-studded, sanwhich-making lineup.  I managed my first night last night and it went so amazingly smooth; even got an "everything looked great" from 'Ole Sandy.  Work has been great lately and it's going to suck having to cut back on hours for tennis.  Speaking of which, tryouts start in a week or two and its 20 degrees outside, which doesn't bode well.  School is going fine except for A.P. Psych which isn't that bad, it's just really lame and you'll get owned if you don't keep up (and if you aren't artistic).

It's always better to write these when you are in a good mood.  Keep that in mind, everyone.

I have never been bothered by people asking me "What's wrong Steve?" considering it's usually when I'm in a bad mood.  It's just really wierd when people ask you that and you're being your usual self.  I'm fine, I'm happy, it's just that life really isn't that exciting for me to be enthusiastic all the time. It seems like everyone around me knows me better than I do.  I don't know if that's my problem or not, but I really don't know myself.  I'm beginning to wonder if anyone else in this world knows themselves either.

Arguing about stupid things makes me happy, even when I'm always wrong.

Listening to music makes me happy.

Knowing that we'll have a new president in little bit makes me happy.

Knowing that I know absolutely nothing about anything makes me happy.

Talking to all of my friends at school is about the best part of the day.

Since we've started a new semester, I though I should at least make one entry until school is over.  I can't tell anyone how happy I am that the new semester has started.  It's like a new beginning; like freshman year or something.  It's so amazingly deceiving.  Now I just have to wait for tennis season to get here and I'll have it made.  As usual...I've been thinking a lot lately about religion and things are getting more and more clear.  Today, for instance, Mr. Broaddus mentioned how the very first slave owners called the slaves heathens, therefore meaning that they were looked down upon becuase they were assumed not to believe in the same God that the colonists did.  There's no way anyone can deny the conflict that religion has caused throughout history.  Christianity turns too many people into closed-minded thinkers who can only see one perspective of life.  Isn't it more beneficial to the individual and society to not take a stance automatically and sit back and observe without bias?  So I'll keep thinking.
